Customizing the survey URL
The custom survey URL is used when you need a concise, easy to remember URL for the survey. This can make it easier for respondents to access the link.
Example:
company.SurveyAnalytics.com
research.SurveyAnalytics.com
The custom survey URL is a non-tracking URL. The responses will be saved as anonymous with no data connecting the response to the respondents. It is not possible to implement respondent tracking if you are using a custom survey URL.You can also use this feature to brand your surveys.
How can I setup a custom URL for my survey?
- Go To:
- Login » Surveys » Edit » Live Survey Link
- Enter the name you’d like to use for the URL.
- Characters allowed: Lowercase letters (a-z), numbers(0-9) and the hyphen “-” character. Uppercase letters and special symbols or characters are not valid URL characters.
- Click Save.
- If you get an error, “Please select a different short name,” it means the option you entered is already in use.
- Your customized URL is immediately available for use! When distributing the URL, please do not use www in the link. For example, the link would be https://demo.questionpro.com, rather than https://www.demo.questionpro.com.
What if the customized URL is used in the email body while sending out the survey?
If we try sending out the survey using the email addresses those details won't be tracked under reports as the customized URL acts as anonymous link.
I keep getting the message "Please select a different short name"
This means that the short name you entered is already being used by another user.
Please do not use https://www.demo.surveyanalytics.com Use: https://demo.surveyanalytics.com. www should not be used in the link and dot(.) cannot be used before .questionpro.com in the link.
